History:

Rosalie began her teaching career as a first grade teacher in Mt. Clemens, MI, after graduating from Concordia Teachers College, Seward, NE.

While in Michigan she met and married her husband, Mark. They moved to Iowa in 1976, returning to Rosalie’s hometown of Clarinda.

Prior to her present position at Clarinda Lutheran School, Rosalie enjoyed teaching 5 years at St. Peter Lutheran School in Michigan, 9 years at Clarinda Community Preschool, and 7 years at St. John Lutheran Kindergarten.

Rosalie and Mark have two grown children. Daughter Leah Marxen, her husband and four children live in Atlantic, IA. Son Andrew lives in Council Bluffs.

Rosalie’s favorite things to do are spending “grandma” time with her four grandchildren, traveling with Mark to visit family members in Michigan, boating and fishing, reading, going to Iowa State football games, singing in the church choir, and flower gardening.
